Investor Day

On October 16, 2025, Minds Capital hosted its inaugural Investor Day in Dallas, bringing together around 30 LPs, independent sponsors, portfolio company leaders, and industry experts for a full day of site visits, networking, and presentations.

The event was held during the same week as the McGuireWoods Independent Sponsor Conference, giving members of the Minds community another reason to gather in Dallas and spend time together outside the formal conference setting.

The day began with a visit to Quiltcraft Industries, a Dallas-based Minds portfolio company backed alongside Willistown Capital. Minds invested in the platform following Willistown’s acquisition of Quiltcraft in December 2024.

Quiltcraft CEO David Pearson led attendees through the company’s operations and discussed the evolution of the business, its growth plans, and the experience of partnering with an independent sponsor. Willistown’s William Boffa and Darren Fultz also joined the group. Earlier in 2025, Quiltcraft had completed the transformative acquisition of Fabtex, a transaction that later earned ACG Houston’s Private Equity Deal of the Year.

The group then reconvened at Cattlemens Bank for lunch, networking, and an afternoon of presentations. Minds Capital partners Niklas James, Max Lummis and Will Smith shared updates on Minds, its portfolio, and the independent sponsor market.

They were joined by five external speakers representing different parts of the lower-middle-market ecosystem:

• Mike Fagan, former #1-ranked professional bowler turned independent sponsor

Together, the sessions brought perspectives across dealmaking, legal, accounting, market data, capital formation, and the independent sponsor model.
